Structured & Predictable
Clear milestones, defined deliverables, and predictable outcomes at every phase. Transparent reporting for stakeholders and management.
AWS MAP Integrated
Full utilization of AWS MAP funding and investment grants. Best practices integrated directly from the AWS partner ecosystem.
Enterprise-Proven
Proven at enterprise clients and large mid-market companies in the DACH region. Industry-specific templates for compliance and governance.
AI-Accelerated
GenAI-powered code transformation and automated testing. Machine learning for workload classification and optimization recommendations.
The Road.MAP Phases at a Glance
From initial analysis to production operations — a structured migration path with clear milestones.
Assess
Portfolio Discovery, TCO Analysis, Business Case, Readiness Assessment
Mobilize
Landing Zone Design, Migration Factory Setup, Team Enablement, Toolchain
Migrate & Modernize
Wave Planning, Automated Migration, Optimization, Handover
Phase 1: Assess
Complete inventory of all workloads with automated discovery. TCO analysis and business case calculations provide the decision-making foundation. Each workload receives a migration strategy (7 Rs) and prioritization.
Phase 2: Mobilize
Building the AWS Landing Zone according to the Well-Architected Framework. The Migration Factory is configured with CI/CD pipelines, runbooks, and automated tests. In parallel, teams are trained and certified.
Phase 3: Migrate & Modernize
Wave-based migration with 20–50 servers per wave. Automated validation after each wave ensures quality. Post-migration optimization and knowledge transfer to the customer team conclude the project.
Request a Readiness Assessment
Within two to four weeks, you will receive a complete migration plan with cost forecast — free of charge and without obligation.
Infrastructure Analysis
Automated discovery of all servers, databases, applications, and dependencies. A complete inventory as the foundation for migration planning.
Workload Classification
Each workload is classified according to the 7 R strategies: Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, Repurchase, Retire, Retain, or Relocate. AI-powered recommendations.
TCO & Migration Plan
Detailed Total Cost of Ownership calculation with savings forecast. A concrete migration plan with timelines, wave planning, and resource requirements.

What Makes Cloud Migrations Risky Without a Method
A cloud migration is not a sure thing. Unstructured approaches lead to cost traps, project delays, and technical debt. These are the hurdles we encounter regularly.
Legacy Infrastructure
Grown on-premises landscapes with hundreds of applications, unclear dependencies, and outdated technologies make migration risky and error-prone without a structured methodology.
Cost Uncertainty
Without a sound TCO analysis and business case calculation, management lacks the basis for a decision. Cloud migrations without a clear economic justification fail to get budget approval.
Capability Building
Cloud migrations require new skills in DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, and cloud-native architectures. The shortage of qualified professionals in the DACH region further compounds this challenge.

Frequently Asked Questions
Road.MAP is Storm Reply’s in-house migration methodology that extends the AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) with proven enterprise frameworks. It comprises three phases — Assess, Mobilize, and Migrate & Modernize — and provides a structured, predictable approach to cloud migrations of any scale.
Road.MAP builds on the AWS MAP framework but adds in-house tools, accelerators, and proven insights from enterprise migration projects in the DACH region. These include automated discovery tools, AI-powered code transformation, a pre-configured Migration Factory, and industry-specific compliance templates.
The free Readiness Assessment includes an infrastructure analysis, workload classification based on the 7 R strategies, a TCO calculation with savings forecast, and a detailed migration plan with timelines and resource requirements.
Road.MAP is designed for enterprise migrations and scales from mid-sized companies with 50 servers to large corporations with thousands of workloads. The methodology is deployed for enterprises of various sizes across the DACH region.
The duration depends on scope and complexity. A typical assessment takes 2–4 weeks, the Mobilize phase 4–8 weeks, and the actual migration is carried out in waves. Thanks to the Migration Factory, 20–50 servers can be migrated per wave, meaning even large migrations can be completed within 6–12 months.
